August 1947

The Cavalcade of Fashions show, sponsored by the Mesquite Club, and held Friday at the Hotel New Frontier, featured 50 years of fashions, and attire worn by famous women during that time. Marie Simms models an elaborate silver beaded chemise, topped with a white fur jacket, belonging to the late Jean Harlow. More than 600 women attended the annual event.

Maury Soss of Fanny's, Mrs. John Grana and Mrs. Chester Simms (from left), practice for the unique way in which international fashion houses will display their styles during the event.

Ruth McClure, manager of Fannys Fur Salon is pictured in the mirror viewing four of the many spectacular fur designs brought back from New York's finest fur fashion salons. Mrs. McClure spent last week in NYC buying to suit the good taste of our Las Vegas ladies. She offers a tip to the wise, If you are thinking of fur, now is the time, there will be a shortage later and prices will be higher. A word to the wise is sufficient. Models are from left, Virginia Brown, white jacket: Mrs. McClure, Irene Cohan, full length mink; Marie Simms, fox coat; and Terry Woodbury, poncho with buttons.
